Before you protect
It creates a durable, chemically resistant, hydrophobic surface over the finish. The result is richer gloss, stronger water behavior, easier contamination release, and simpler proper maintenance—not a vehicle that never needs washing.
No responsible installer should market ceramic as scratch-proof armor. A coating can make contamination easier to remove, but automatic brushes, poor wash technique, and physical contact can still damage the finish.
Not for every shorter-term installation. If the existing finish is already acceptable, careful cleaning and preparation may be enough. ShineLab includes a paint enhancement in longer-term coating pricing; additional correction is recommended only when you want meaningfully greater defect removal.
